I think The Queen is the best movie nominated for motion picture of the year for 2006.

I am not a fan of the monarchy and this film did not change that. It is by no means a biography.

It is an engaging political thriller with good characterizations.

Historical footage is seamlessly interwoven into the film and at atleast one significant point in the story it was difficult to tell the real from the re-creation.

This film clearly demonstrates the truth that

“People should not be afraid of their government, government should be afraid of their people” — V for Vendetta (a film that I think should have been nominated for best motion picture of 2005)
