Stars @ Canucks: Quarter-Final Game 7
Unlike Jean-Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News, I am not going to predict or pretend to know who will win this deciding game this evening.
What I do know is if the Vancouver Canucks win tonight, it will not be because Alain Vigneault put himself above his team during his post game interview after the Canuck’s loss on April 21st.
Update 10:15P
Vancouver wins 4-1!
Trevor Linden is the star of the game scoring the winning goal , making 4 shots total! His post game interview was classic Linden - calm, professional and positive! I wonder if he has what it takes to coach?

Update April 24th 10:45P
I listened to Vigneault’s post game interview on CBC’s HNIC Online (starts at about 13 minutes into video) He made some good statements:
“ It wasn’t about me challenging them “
“ Was alot more about them than it was about me tonight “
“ They played hard for their teammates, played hard for the fans “
But I think Mattias Ohlund said it best in a quote reported on page A51 of yesterday’s Province newspaper: ” I think this team wins and loses as a team. We’re 22 guys on this team. It’s not the goaltender or three, four guys. He’s the coach. He can do whatever he wants. My opinion is you win and lose as a team. “
Hopefully Vigneault continues to remember that because playing and winning against the Ducks is going to require alot more than edgy soundbites during post-game interviews.
