BC’s Youth Film Our History
If you haven’t heard already, 2008 is BC’s 150th birthday.
In 1858, one man made a decision to prevent British Columbia from becoming another star on the American flag.
As part of this year’s birthday events the Province of BC, together with the BC School Trustees Association and numerous film industry partners have decided to sponsor an event asking BC Students to contribute their thoughts and prespectives on the history of our province through art, music and writing. Some of these ideas will be combined into films and then screened in a BC film festival in June.
I think this is a terrific idea and I look forward to watching as our youth tell their stories based on their view of our history!
