Bottled Water at City Hall
On July 22 Vancouver City Councillor Tim Stevenson will introduce a motion to ban the supply or sale of bottled water from city hall and all city work sites.
No wait.
Actually Councillor Stevenson’s motion is just asking for a memo from city staff about eliminating bottled water from Vancouver’s departments and services.
Yet another make work project.
If Councillor Stevenson wants to eliminate bottled water from city hall why can’t he just discuss the matter with council, have a vote and move on?
Why do we need a city council if all they do is request reports, studies and memos? I thought when we elected council we elected them to figure stuff out, debate, vote and let the best ideas rule the day. Instead it seems that city staff are making all the decisions and doing all the leg work.
I wonder how much time will be taken up by council on July 22 debating the need for a memo?
